A Brief History of the University Budi Luhur
To educate skilled workers are smart and virtuous Luhur it, then on 1 April 1979 established the Academy of Computer Science (AIK) Budi Luhur in Jakarta, at Jl. No. Budi Utomo. 11 Jakarta Pusat. After two years of fighting, on August 11, 1981 AIK Budi Luhur obtain an operating permit from the government. In the operating permit, the government changed the name of the AIK Budi Luhur a Computer Science Academy (WFA) Budi Luhur. This name is used, when on January 5, 1983 by the Education Minister's decision No.. 018/O/1983 APK Budi Luhur get listed status. With the state-owned registered, APK Budi Luhur baccalaureate exam successfully organized computer examiner of ITB. With more solid education in APK Budi Sublime, and the growing interest and need for expertise in the field of computers, then Budi Noble Education Foundation in August 1985 established the Academy of Electrical Computer (Atek) Budi Sublime and the Academy of Accounting Computer (AAK) Budi Luhur. Atek Budi Sublime founding purpose is to prepare personnel capable of holding positions and tasks that require knowledge of electrical engineering computer, while Budi Luhur AAK aimed to provide personnel capable of holding positions and tasks that require knowledge of accounting and computers.
With the advances achieved by APK Budi Luhur, the Government increased status (accreditation) from a recognized registered by the Education Minister Decree No.. 0355/I/1986 dated May 13, 1986. Giving recognized status that resulted in the alternation of the name Sublime became APK Budi Academic Information Management and Computer (AMIK) Budi Luhur.
In line with the increased public attention to the needs and computer science (computer science), as well as the increasing demand for baccalaureate computer to continue to pursue Strata-1 (S1) High School founded Computer Sciences (STPK) Budi Luhur in the second semester of the academic year 1985-1986 .
With more solid STPK Budi Luhur and encouraged by all parties, in 1986 founded the Education Foundation Budi Luhur High School of Electrical Computer (cuttings) Budi Luhur College of Accounting and Computer (stak) Budi Luhur to hold a degree (S1) in the field each.
In early 1987, the Education Foundation Budi Luhur feel the need to simplify their environment institutional college (STPK, cuttings, and stak Budi Luhur) into a container. So by Decision Mendikbud 0720/I/1987 numbers, STPK, cuttings, and stak Budi Luhurdiintegrasikan into the High School of Information Management and Computer (STMIK) Budi Sublime with majors and courses as follows:
Department of Information Management, with courses:
a. Information Management (D-III Recognized and S-1 Registered)
b. Computerized Accounting (D-III and S1 Registered).
Department of Information Engineering Informatics study programs (S-1 Registered).
Department of Computer Engineering, Computer Engineering study programs (D III and S-1 Registered).
Driven by a desire to improve services to students Computerized Accounting growing, by the Chairman of the Education Foundation Budi Luhur 343/KBYL/XI/1989 No. dated 30 November 1989, a computerized accounting courses in the Department of Information Management department was upgraded to Computerized Accounting.
In an effort to diversify the business, and in connection with the completion of construction of Units III and IV, on 1 April 1997 Budi Noble Education Foundation established the School of Economics (STIE) Budi Luhur. And a year later after the completion of building V Unit, on 1 April 1998 established the College of Engineering (STT) Budi Luhur. And then on April 1, 1999 College of Engineering (STT) Budi Luhur Unit VI established after the building was completed, in order to efficiency, four high schools (STMIK, STIE, STISIP, STT) in accordance with the Decree of the Minister of National Education 144/D/0 / 2002 dated June 7, 2002 be integrated into the University Budi Luhur.
